Thank You and A Look Ahead at 2022

Despite losing my studio at the beginning of the year I’ve been able to continue painting from home and you have all supported my efforts by purchasing a record 44 paintings this year! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for collecting my work, joining my Instagram Lives and for continuing to encouraging me to keep painting. It’s a dream come true to be able to consistently make and sell my work.

I have been very focused on selling as many of my paintings as I could this year, especially since many of my works that once lived in my studio moved in to my already crowded Brooklyn apartment. And while I’ll continue to promote and sell my work, I’m going to shift my mental energy in 2022 towards the more artistic side.

I’ve been working extra hard for the last few years on developing my marketing and sales skills because it’s important to me that people live with and enjoy my art. However, I feel I’ve developed those skills pretty well for the moment and I want to focus now on experimenting with new styles and techniques.

A few avenues I’m interested in exploring this year:

  • Plein air painting (painting outdoors)

  • Speed painting

  • Work on some new styles - larger detailed abstracted landscapes, more ambitious/larger paintings

  • Learn to draw on the iPad, which could then potentially be turned into giclee fine art prints.

I’m feeling more and more ambitious these days compared to my more “do-less” attitude of 2020 and 2021 when staying safe felt like more than enough during such uncertain times. Times are still very uncertain but I’m buoyed by the fact doctors are so much better at treating and preventing Covid these days.

Wishing you all a healthy, happy New Year!
