Pedernal Mountain, near Abiquiu New Mexico, was famous for being depicted by Georgia O’Keeffe in nearly 30 paintings. This painting shows Pedernal in the background and the Abiquiu Reservoir in the foreground which wasn’t created until after O’Keeffe completed her series of Pedernal paintings. I visited New Mexico and was inspired by the otherworldly landscapes.
